Well here's what I do know......

It's screwed up. Does that help, our is that a given ???

Apparently there was something that went wrong, and then they had to move stuff over to another server .... blah, blah, blah. Even though the Bulletin Board is accessible, there is still no posting that can happen ??? Why - I don't know. Dave Greene says that he is *on* Bennett to get it back up, but I really don't know much more than that.

Nope Pete - no new car ... just my 'ole POS from years past. But this year, I figured out which plug wires go to which cylinder. They make these pesky Oldsmobiles so dang hard to figure out ...........

How's that Salminila Chevy anyhoo ? Kinda has a *ring* to it, doesn't it .....

Yeah I know some of them guys get pretty upset over at Moparts about headers and like I say I like cars with manifolds or with headers whatever the owner likes works for me! I like manifolds for the Pure Stock drags (Course I have to thats all they allow) and I like the sound of headers on a closed exh system with a little cam rump rump in there but I wish Mopar had put a better manifold on the big block A-Bodys! So what do you guys think should we wait for the Buick site to get back up or start a Pure stock site over here as Rob says its real easy! Ron

I know alot of Chevy guys also like headers, What are your thoughts on cars with headers and trick intakes and all the go fast goodies that only run 13's and 14's?? We won't even mention the 15 second cars with speed equiptment and big blocks? I say why bother with headers if your not running at least real low 13's!!In reality you should be able to run a 12sec. ET with a big block and headers even with a Ford!

Mike I totally agree with that! I figure that my 383 Dart bone stock should run in the 13,s or I am missing on the tune-up. I see to many cars way over cammed and so on that run worse then a well setup car that is all stock! So I figured that my car should run at least high 12,s with headers and a little convertor and the 484 cam and when it went 12.49 on the second run and I drove it 40 miles to the track and never touched a thing I figured I had the jetting and tune pretty close and I left well enough alone. But any bigblock muscle car should most likely be able to get in the 13,s with someone taking the time to work with what they got. I see alot of guys have a car restored and just take it to the track and just run it and have no idea where anything is set and I think to myself man that car could be a 1/2 to a second quicker with the proper setup! You can tell at the Pure stock drags who has just come to play and who really works there car over and I am sure some guys go a little farther then the rules let you but thats a whole new subjet! Ron

I do believe that SS/AA Cuda driven by Harry Holton that ran 8.68 is a little more then stock and I think it has headers?Just kidding but them cars were flying as that was the first 8.60,s run by a SS/AA car and Bobby D,s Camaro was the first official 9 second run by a Stocker as he went 9.997 today an Joe Aluise went 10.01 in his 63 Ply yesterday! Man thats fast even for NHRA stockers and superstockers! So thats one for the Chevy guys as I say hats off to Bobby D and his 9 second Camaro stocker and Harry Holton for the first 8.60,s in a SS/AA superstocker! Ron

Belair62,
Was that Riv a doctor's car out of Chicago?
If so, I looked at it several years ago in the Detroit area (Taylor or Dbn Hghts, I think). Needed some body work and paint, but had been cared for most of its life and was still complete, including the dual quads. The guy was into Buicks and had several. Think he wanted $2500 for the Riv, probably 8-10 years ago.
