Pete,
Cool car. What will it run with some modern Drag radials?

From the text, am I to understand that the 2nd owner still has the original L72 for this car? Or did Pete get it in the deal? I'd hate to think that someone else is having the original engine held hostage like Charley's ex-Porterfield ZL1.

According to Pete, the 2nd owner still has the original engine, but isn't ready to sell.

As for drag radials, in the MCR article where he tested his 3 cars, Pete dropped ~3 tenths off of his Camaro's ET just by going to DRs! His Nova dropped ~5 tenths!

Yes the second owner still has the original motor.....he's just not ready to sell! Anyways, it made the perfect race car, and gave me a chance to leave the numbers cars at home. The 850 made up 1 more mph. Most of the differnce was by the 1/8th. I have not put the drag radials on as I still have the stock axles in it. I like the tires being the weak link. It should go 11's for fun with them on!

11's with DR's? Shoot, I'm EXPECTING that thing, on Polys, to dip into the 11's next weekend in Stanton! Everyone seems to think there is gonna be some good air. Hope our car is up to the task.

Pete, Do you know what power valve is in your Holley 850 DP? My L88 with 850 DP has a 65 in front and block off plug in back. It seems to run too rich so I was thinking of trying a power valve rated for a lower manifold vacuum. It has about 8 HG at idol according to my vacuum gauge.

Joe... I'm running a 2.5 in the front and a plug in the back.
