Charley, I'm not trying to get back at anyone for anything. I don't play them games. I just asked you a question about a car thats in a national publication. Your responce was looking to be taking a civil approach but you just can't help yourself by trying to slam me. I never did anything to you but you always seem to stick your nose in my doings and make inmature, uninformed comments. Who made you the national camaro cop and website patrol. You seem to assume things to soon and have a negative interpertation of what you may be reading at any given point in time. Hopefully from now on we can just keep away from each other dealings and forums since I don't know what it will take to make this right with you. My Douglass Yenko car is going to turn out just fine. Thank you,

Tom, that was what I thought, thanks for the copy.

For once, I think I'm off the 'hotseat'!

Maxx, based on the research by Clint posted by Tom, will you stripe the car?

Charley I heard that story about the motor of your car a long time ago. I actually couldn't remember who's car it was. Cool story but a bummer on your part that the owner of #26 doesn't want to switch the motors back. (I think that is what I heard) I know that you are probably tired of telling the story but how did they end up with each other's motors anyways? I hope the motors are reunited with the right cars one day.

Actually Maxx I think I tend to give People the benefit of the doubt rather than asume the worst. You just seem to bring out the best in me. I in fact was not positive it was the same car until Ed Ernst spoke with our old Club Member yesterday and relayed the info to me. I think my opinion of you formed when you were out here looking at a Camaro for sale. My Good friend entertained you for a couple days and even took you to a Pleasanton swap meet with him. At the Swap meet he finds a set of AD Rally Wheels for I think 90.00 for the whole set. The way it was relayed to me was you then implored him to let you buy them because you really needed them. He did so even though he doesn't have a bunch of Money and the Price he could have sold them for would mean alot to him. Low and behold the next day you are then trying to sell the same wheels to Ed Ernst for about 600.00 and telling him that his Jan built Z shouldn't have YH's like he is looking for. You can dispute his story but I have known him for 25 plus years and I will take him at his word every time. He had no idea you were a Dealer and just believed you when you said you really needed the wheels.
Your car is not a bad car it just has problems that I think should have been disclosed to Ebay Bidders. You were too busy for a whole week to correct the Ebay omissions or even respond on this site ? And you really think anyone here believes that your comment about my Engine wasn't an attempted Dig ? I could go on but I will refrain.
Frank... A Guy bought the Engine out of # 3 back in about 1971 and put it in his Moms basement. Over the years I think he tried to buy # 3 but the then owner wouldn't sell. I think he thought he would get it when it did sell but was pissed when Porterfield bought the car. Porterfield tried to get the Engine from him but the Guy wanted Porterfield to sell him the Car. The Guy later buys # 26 from Ed Cunneen and starts to restore it. Porterfield finds the orig. block for # 26 and buys it. He then has it repaired and does a complete Magazine build up of the Engine with Batten Performance. He keeps offering to trade the Guy but the Guy for some reason thinks everybody is out to cheat him. Porterfield gets tired and sells the engine for # 26. Later on after I buy # 3 I end up buying the # 26 Engine from Jim Stubbings thinking that I can work a deal with the Guy. He yanked my chain for awhile getting digital pics of # 26 sent to him on a Floppy and I went as far as to offer him Cash and the Engine for # 3's but he just won't budge. I offered a substantial amount of Cash for his whole car that I don't think he will ever finish but so far nothing has worked. I then took the Counter Engine out of # 3 and put Engine # 26 in # 3. I'm not gonna worry about it anymore. Someday either he will wake up and contact me to do a Trade or his car will get sold and the New owner will track me down to correct things. I am no longer willing to throw any Money into the deal, just trade. Sad story but there are a few Orig blocks for ZL1's that the People that possess them won't sell or want the Moon for them. The Orig. Engine for the other Yellow ZL1 is in Ky in a Guys Garage but the Guy won't sell it. I think he was offered 30K but turned it down ? The orig. Block for the Blue RS is supposedy out there but the price is now over 30K I think.

When SS427 & I met Charley for the first time at Chicago VetteFest last November,he was very upfront about his ZL-1's engine heritage.
He was not trying to lie about it at all.
I found him very approachable, helpful, honest and knowledgeable about Camaros in General.
For this reason,I cast one vote for him as the National Camaro Cop and Website Patrol......
