Daniel,
Regarding the tank, it would probably be best to contact Chuck Berge who is the 1968-72 NCRS National team leader and tech advisor. His contact info is in the front of every Corvette Restorer issue. My guess would be that he tells you to reinstall it EXACTLY the same way it was when removed. Hope this helps.

The Bowtie award is a difficult achivement. I was involved with this at the 2000 NCRS Nationals in Galveston, TX. The cars go on a lift and are viewed top to bottom. I have a 1965 that was signed off for Bowtie judging at Waco last year. Your car must go through flight judging at a regional event and be signed off by Chuck. Chuck owns a silver/silver 435 roadster that I owned for some time.
