Default Re: Vintage Street Race Story

The story could be true as I have heard many crazy stories about NY area street racing. With 10 million people living within driving distance it would be easy to get 1000s of spectators to a street race at 2am on a Sat or Fri night. There were NY clubs that ran street races like an NHRA race but no scales. They had entrace fees, tech inspection, and gave out win decals. There were even food vendors at some of the big races. Some of the top cars were quicker then NHRA pro stockers as they would have same engines/chas but would be much lighter. That is a good story and there are some like it in old magazines. I have some similar great street racing stories in my head that I need to type out some day.
