Coil spring cars react different. Car may be a little heavier, but may hook better. Air bags!! We ran 50/50 cure rides in the back and 90/10's in the front of Joe Possella's 1970 LS-6, with a 4:88 went 11:47et. 9" slicks and headers. 4 speed. This was a bench seat and stripes delete car. Dark blue. Wish I knew where that went!! Like Archie Bunker says...Those were the daysss!

It's gonna be a '69 Y-Chevelle, 4-speed, bench, no ps, and I'm betting it's not gonna be a *lot* heavier than our Camaro, which tips the scales any where from 3750-3850+ with me in the seat.

That is close in weight. I thought the chevelle would have at least 200lbs. on the camaro.

Sam: there very well may be a 200+ pound difference, as I honestly won't know until I roll the car on the scales. But, from what I've seen of comparably equipped '69 Chevelles, and the portly weight of our Camaro, I just think it's gonna be under 200. I've always felt our Camaro was heavy, even for what it is (auto, ps)...maybe because it's all original metal?

I think the A/S cars are around 3400??? Small block cars around 3200??? You put that yellow car on a small diet you may see 12 teens.

With me in the seat, and around a 1/4 tank of fuel, our Camaro goes 3740 pounds. I don't even want to wrap my mind around what would happen if I dropped 350 pounds...heck, that's COPO Pete territory!

Thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth.....I would go with a mix of good fuel and pump gas instead of the octane boost. I have had a couple of bad experiences with the octane boost. Two different brands and had the same problems with both.....chemical build up on carb parts....spray on carb cleaner wouldn't even touch this stuff. This would happen over the winter months when not running engine much. Switched to good fuel and started mixing it like Rob mentioned and had much better results.

Never had any trouble with Jack Podell's stuff. I drive my car in the winter though.

Thanks Sam! Just doing my best!! The scary part is that I think there's actually a couple tenths or so still left in the car, but I think dad is probably getting tired of me messing with his car! [/ QUOTE ] What's the problem????? Is he turning into an old Fart????? ![]() ![]() Peter
