First of all I am not a Camaro guy but this car is absolutely amazing!
![]() Rick before I finished reading the thread and saw your response I thought of that picture. I am attaching it again. This picture was actually taken by my father in the spring of 1969. You can see the orange 1969 Illinois plates. I posted it before and people said that they were added. I wonder if it was possiable if the factory did it? What do you guys think?

$100K Reserve Not Met
30 bids 5 days 21 hours left. Might be a good time to start poping the popcorn. This is going to be interesting.

I would like to see any kind of paperwork that shows the stripes were done like that at the factory. Do they say the car is orig paint ? Do they say the black replacement grill with the Z28 emblem in the wrong place was done at the factory also ? Looks like the top of the firewall is blue instead of white like the stripe color. There are several Camaros out there painted that same color of blue. Might be a neat car but I have a hard time believing all of it.

I have seen them same stripes on 67 camaro's also. I really doubt it is factory. I have seen stripes like that on vintage scca race cars. Roger

If anyone has a copy of the John Hooper book... Is the yellow Retail Order Form picture on the auction the same one from page 75??

It does not appear to be the same one pictured in John R. Hoopers book "The 1969 Camaro Reference Book" However the one pictured in the book has a hand written note that reads, "continued on the following page" So maybe the one pictured in the auction is the second page?

Interesting car, but does the paperwork show the light blue to be the original color ordered? Also, is the chambered exhaust added, I couldn't see the NC8 on the option sheets? I don't want to beat up on the car, but if you want to get $150K you could at least have some pictures that are big enough to read the paperwork.

Attached is the picture of the order form from the Hooper book. Color is indicated as "Special paint blue with white". No codes.

As they went down the assembly line, the cars with stripes had the cowl area painted the color of the stripes. Of course the cowl was off. This overspray was not taped off but painted by "a good hand" so the cowl area looked cleaner when the stripes were applied on the cowl itself and hood. When the cowl was put on the car the vents that you see into looked like a better paint job instead of dry overspray. I might of used too many words. Hope you are not more confused.
