That's awesome! Original race car still in racing condition. Does anybody have any idea how many COPOs had 4.56 gears and did they get special rear codes? Do you know which dealer this car was original sold from, you can't see it on the window sticker in the pictures.

I was parked next to that car in Pigeon Forge and all I did was drool! Not sure if the wheels were the originals or not but they were repainted. Under the hood was mostly untouched as was about 99% of it. I did not get a single picture of that car while I was at that show last year but now I wish that I had. If you ever get a chance to talk with Johnny do so as he is an absolute true gentleman.

This may be the answer..
Not a Factory 4:56 COPO Posi gear, but not the Std. 4:56 Posi either. I'm still curious to know what suffix code a 1969 COPO Camaro rearend with a Dealer installed 4:56 gear would show? From COPO.com: SPECIAL EATON POSI CASE "234" and RING & PINION The 1969 COPO Camaros, Chevelles and the 1970 Copo Novas had a special heavy duty Eaton posi case, which differed significantly from the 4-series production case. The parts are listed below: 3916234 Complete assembly 3918834 Spring Plate - heat treated 3957939 Spring 75lb. each (natural color) 3880140 Spider Gear (larger size) 3918831 Side (Axle) gear (16 teeth) RING & PINIONS 3916226-3916228 4.10:1 (1969 COPO Camaros and Chevelles - 1970 COPO 9010). 3862514-3862516 4.56:1 (It is believed that these gears were shipped loose and installed at dealership). |

Pic of the POP did not come out
![]() You can see part of it (the POP), as well as the selling dealer, Brooks Chevrolet in one of the pics. Also, the speedo was a 120mph. I thought the CoPo's had 140's? Rich

The 140 mph speedo was a separate COPO option (9737 I believe) that also included 15 inch wheels and larger swat bar.
I'm confused about the axle ratio. The window sticker cleary shows the 9511DT 456 ratio. Is this not included from the factory? |

I was going to say the same thing the 4:56 is right on the window sticker. Could this be a one of one car ? Very cool.
