Stinn sold a lot of Hi-Po cars in this area...would be pretty cool if,indeed, this was another. This dealer is now long gone.I have access to some paperwork from the early 70's to compare if some actual paperwork comes up.The dealer invoice has a pretty cool header.....Fast Eddy is still out there somewhere........

Well, the heads ARE aluminum, but they DIDN'T come with that car. These heads (3904392), are 67 Vette only. I emailed him for the dates of the heads and the trans. I'll post the numbers if he gets back to me.

I have to say, I kind of feel for this guy. He obviously is not a first gen expert and does not hold himself out as such. He did qualify the heads and the trans by stating he BELIEVED they were original to the car.
Ed is correct about the heads, the correct ones would be 3919842 for a 68. Might be able to pass off the wrong heads if this were a very early 68, but it is in fact a very late 68 made the last week or so of production. Trans is P2T06B, so it was made Dec 6, 1971 for a 1972 model, and is an M21. He promptly emailed me that info, but did not know what the codes meant. I don't think the guy is hiding anything, only going by what he has. If in fact the window sticker turns out to be a reproductioin, it is quite possible the father-in-law had it made in the 70's. I can remember an article in 1977 or 78 in Popular Hot Rodding about an outfit that made window stickers, so the repros have been around a long time. Sure it is fair to ask all the right questions. After all, if properly documented this could be a very high dollar car. I just hope we all show some compassion to this guy. He is in a stressful situation already. Just my 2 cents. Lynn |

Here is one of the original window stickers I have for my 69's. This particular one is for my 69 Camaro Convertible. I also included the original salesman's business card. He is related to the original owner of my car. Cool thing is, my convertible was originally sold right here in Spokane, and the dealership is still in business today.

1967 Heads would have no temp sending unit in them, later heads (aluminum and steel) would have temp senders in them. Chances are slim it came with 1967 heads with no temp sender since there was no provision for this in the intake.
There would be no way to gauge the temp of the engine. Heads from 1967 to 1968 are one of the things that can't carry over as the part was different. |

Here's what he sent me with regards to the head and trans numbers:
[ QUOTE ] Both date codes on the heads are in January of 1967. I don't have the date code on the Trans, but I have learned, from an Ebayer, that the trans is from a '72 model. The trans stamp is: P2T06B. Thanks - Tim. [/ QUOTE ] Looks like he's being up front with everyone. He's even revised the auction with this info. Although he does say the Window Sticker is original. I don't have enough experience on these to say, but if it IS original, then the only thing that I can say is, what's a Window Sticker worth to you... Cause that's basically what you're buying! Ed
