[ QUOTE ]

It would probably result in an all-out war in the '63-'69 Corvette world, or at least an avalanche of litigation.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good point and I am willing to bet there a people in high places doing whatever is possible to keep that from happening.

I would also hope someone would give me a days notice so I could buy stock in eBay.

Can you imagine the amount of cars that would suddenly jump to the auction block.

I'm just in from paying a bit to much for the car. Had it not been my 1st Camaro, 1st car I actually bought I would not have paid up for the car. It's a very very nice car, super solid body, paint etc. I'll try to find the build sheet as I don't think the tank has been out of the car. I do know it's real and anyone on here is welcome to come by and look for themselves. The Chevy dealer is still in business but who knows if they still have any records???
Will download pics tomorrow for everyone to check it out

It's hard to put a price on sentimental things so you probably got a good deal since it serves 2 purposes for you. And if the current trend continues, the market will climb past your price. Personally, I would get some pictures of the car with the original owner and have him sign some form of "verification" you type up saying he bought it new and it's a real Z28. It can't hurt the value, that's for sure. I bet when you show the original owner the car he will love it! This is what the hobby is all about.

Often times, paperwork is worth more than the car. With rare options, paperwork is certainly more important than the original engine.
