Yes, all of the volunteers connected with the Gibb show are to be commended for another job well done.

And you never know who you will bump into there. I had lunch with a fellow (wish I could remember his name) who worked in the shop at the Gibb dealership. Was very interesting to hear about 427 engine swaps, the vast array of speed parts on hand, test drives, etc.

Of course all of the regulars were on hand, Helen, Nancy, Jerry and Herb.

And one of the highlights of the show for me was spending time visiting with Lee Hamilton, who was shop foreman at the Kansas City Dick Harrell Performance Center in '70-'71. It was neat hear more of the history surrounding both Dick Harrell and Fred Gibb.

BTW, many of these fine folks, as well as a lot of the cars, will be at SCR8. Some even drag racing. I know Ken Barnhart has a fresh "Yenko" engine in his ZL-1 Camaro.

This is one of the coolest sights I've seen in a long time. Unfortunately, very few people who witness this have any idea what they're seeing!

I've said it before; I'll say it again......

Dennis, even my wife, who is not a car person, thought it was kind of neat.

One regret that I had was that the truck was not parked near the tent along with Ken's car. This would have made for a really neat conversation piece especially with all the era photos. When was the last time we have seen the original hauler and race car still in the hands of the original owner? By the way Ken, did you get that grease stain out of your jeans. The wife was NOT too happy with you!

Tom,

The fellow you met at lunch was Jim McPeak. I really liked the story about the six cylinder transplant into one of the 50 Chevy II's.

I have now had an opportunity to post the photographs that I took this last weekend into Camaro Club website that I belong to.

Go to www.midiowacamaroclub.com and select photo galleries at the top of the page. About the 5th category down you will find Macomb Cruise Night / Fred Gibb Car Show 2005.

There are 10 pages of photographs. Just click on any thumbnail image and it will enlarge it to full screen.

Andy,

Where were you? We got there around 6 PM and were sitting between "Lil Hoss" and "Fonzie". Wish you had stopped by."

I looked for you at both Macomb and at LaHarpe and didnt see you at either place. I got to Macomb around 630. Guess we both were just in different places at different times.
Thanks for all the added pics. I have a bunch more if I can find a place to host them.
I still cant get over the way the 02 ZL1 Cars sound. They just sound like pure power. I can only imagine what its like to ride in one.

Andy

PS, I added another pic.
