I posted this subject once in the past. I stumbled across your site again and thought I would check in. In the mid-70's one of my friends owned Yenko Chevelle 136379B39XXXX, lemans Blue, 4 spd. We lived in New Middletown, Ohio a small town just south of Youngstown. He bought it as a blown up ex-drag car in 1975-6. He put in a junk-yard small block and drove it for two or three years as a "winter car". Then in 1978 he sold it to some kid in Boardman, Ohio. But, before he sold it he stripped off all the yenko stuff- emblems, hood, rad support with decal etc, and reinstalled Malibu parts. I don't know why? he just did. He still has all the parts in his basement and the heads and intake are currently on his 67 SS Malibu he still drives.
My question to the forum is this, was that Chevelle even found and restored? I hope that it was, I've looked for years but never turned up any leads. thanks for a great forum.

Check www.copo.com The car shows up there. Marv Minneman Chevrolet, Youngstown, Ohio but the car has not surfaced. With all the good stuff stripped off, this car could stay hidden for a long time. They are still out there.

Yes, I've seen that listing at that site before. The car is not marked as know but I was'nt sure if that list is updated regularly.
I saw the car when he bought it. It had black stripes and I think it had a bench seat. I believe it had a 4:56 rear but I don't know if that was original or added later. We did'nt care much about numbers in those days. It also had a dented left rear quarter panel behind the wheel well. I wanted to buy the car from my friend but he sold it while I was away in the Navy. My luck...A day late...

The only info I know is that the car has not been retitled or changed hands 'officially' since 1993.

Well, that statement makes it sound like that the car is at least alive and possibly in storage somewhere, and not crushed. Am I reading you right? Do you have any further hints as to where it might be hiding? Thanks for the info... to be continued?

Any update on this Chevelle? Wondering if it is found and being restored or not.
Thanks
