Sorry for the false information on the poduction number of Z10's, I am not an expert like some people on this site although I have read 250 is the production on a number of sites.

Come on guys, don't be so hard on the guy. He is just sharing info. Technically the Z10 is not a pace car. However, because of the striking similarity, lots of us called it the hardtop pace car for years, especially here in Oklahoma where there were quite a few. Before we knew about trim tag designations, everyone called it the hardtop pace car. No it isn't technically correct, but then everyone knew what you were talking about.
As for production numbers, that will be debated for a long time, no doubt. One of my best friends has a nicely done Z10, and one year he was showing it at a local Starbird (did I spell that correctly) show. A guy comes up and tells him he worked at the Norwood plant in 69 and he remembers the production run being 180. Take it for what it is worth. Could have been just 180 made during a particular time frame. On the other hand, Kurt S. from CRG, estimates anywhere from 500 to 800 based on extrapolations of survivor numbers compared to other known models. Obviously some guess work involved, but Kurt is, from what I understand, putting together an article for the CRG. Should make for some interesting reading. Lynn |

This kinda goes back to my other post in the COPO Canada section on the '67 Pace car. The Z10's came up in that thread and I go back to what I said there. The VIN's of known Z10's needs to be public. Heck between the ones Kurt has and Z10Joey I bet it is a good size number. And if the ICC would chime in, huge I suspect. But I haven't seen the 180 number before. Gosh there have been about 20 on ebay the past year and I find it hard to believe that 20% of the total would change hands.

That's why I said maybe he was confused about one particular run of 180 as being the total production. Had to be more than that. Lynn |
