Default 68 Camaro F41 Suspension

The documents for my 68 SS L78 Camaro have F41 suspension listed as an option. Can anyone give me a description of what this entails?

Thanks

Jeff,

THe F41 suspension consisted of heavy duty springs and heavy duty shocks. Basically different spring rates that made the car handle better. Depending on the options, you got either 5 leafs or 4. My 68 L89 Convertible (also ordered with the F41 suspension) came with the "4 leaf" springs.

What about the front/rear stab-bars and boxed rear arms....didn't they come on these w/ F41? ~ Pete

Pete,

"Boxed rear arms"? Are you referring to the 4 link suspension used on the Chevelles and full sized cars? Not sure about those models.

The rear stabalizer bar wasn't offered on the first generation Camaro, but all 67-69 Camaro's received a front stabalizer as standard equipment. The only real difference between the F41 and the "normal" suspension on the Camaro was that the ride was a little more "harsh" (for want of a better word). Stiffer springs and harder shocks made for more of a "truck feel" if you get my meaning. Not to that extent, but there was a noticable difference between the two suspension packages.
