This time last year the car was on display at the Peterson Museum. It was also at Meadow Brook last year.

That's the Bagwell 'Cuda? It looks like a '71 in all of the pictures

Yes, the car is a 70 model but was campaigned as a 71. The 71 sheetmetal was installed by 72 for sure. At that time it was owned by the Bowers brothers and running as a 71. I can only guess as to why. There may have been a weight advantage for the 71s. When the car was purchased by Factory Muscle out of Phoenix in about 90 it was still wearing the Bagwell paint. Pat chose to restore it to factory spec vs race.

I was very fortunate to have seen this car in person along with all of Phil's,(most all) some real top shelf stuff. Phil's mind is a dictionary of knowledge. I have never seen someone know so much about so many different cars, and guess what, he can work on them too! I was fortunate enough to pluck one of his 67 "R" code Fairlanes, 427 side oiler with 17,000 miles, solid and ton's of NOS stuff. I don't think Phil likes too much aftermarket, at least on the Black Beauty he didn't. The only thing i am struggling with is the transistorized ignition, blown amplifier.Believe it or not the tachometer is part of the loop. May have to convert. What a wicked ride!
