Heres an interesting question to all you "CORRECT GUYS". when doing SS stripes on a chevelle is it taboo to clear coat over them??? i'm in the proccess of painting a friends real 1970 LS-6 chevelle and was wondering if it would hurt the re-sale value. i usually lay on the base then tape off and paint the stripes and clear the whole deal. then wet sand the whole car and stripes smooth so you cant feel the stripes edge.Smooth stripes buried under the clear.always gets a thumbs up at cruise nites but is it bad for such a valuable car?? let the opinions fly !!! stripes over a painted car?? thats so 70's !!!! thanks....
