Oh yeah I believe the guy who owns the Dick Harrell Camaro is a Attorney from Tewksbury NJ who owns or did own a 1969 Copo Camaro...

Great pictures Steve! My buddy Andy and his wife Renee were there with a Red with Black strpe 1970 SS 454 4spd Chevelle.By the way I live about 15 minutes from Flemington.Steve since your into Mopars you might of seen my cousins Dodge Daytona down in Somerville.Do you know Hemi Al ,originally from Bridgewater NJ?

[/ QUOTE ]

I saw that Chevelle cruising by. Sounded like an LS6 or "more" under the hood. There were at least three other big motored 70 Chevelles there. I've seen that Daytona around, he came here last year. Everybody knows Hemi Al. The cruise in Somerville gets too crazy on Fridays. You have be there at around 3:30 to get a good spot and there are always way too many skateboarders and bicycles and loud stereo racers for my paranoia. Flemington is much more laid back and a lot of bizarre stuff surfaces. Two weeks ago there was a blue 71 GTO Judge and an Orange 69 Judge. This year there is an added bonus: On each cruise night they feature a certain make (it was Camaro night last night) and the winner chosen by the judges gets $150.

Steve, your right about Somerville! Yeah Andys car is actually a LS5 Chevelle but is missing the original motor so its been updated with a lot motor HP!I found him this car back in 2000 right in Flemington. He's got a 69 Camaro and 70 Chevelle Pro Street too, both had Chassie work done by Ed Quay who use to work for Jenkins. I was gonna go yesterday with my Nova but needed to get some things done, sounds like a great time! Oh yeah I believe Hemi Al has a Max-wedge car now. Dan

Steve, thanks for the excellent pictures A nice variety of cars there, in a beautiful setting. I like the six banger Camaro too - it's something different

Hi Al,Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a LA built Copo and not a Norwood Copo??? Al,you gotta remember theres over 8 Million living in Jersey and theres a lot of chances of finding something old and vintage.Check this out,I just found and bought a old E/MP 62 Corvette that has has Jersey history.Ran NHRA Division 1 back in the early to mid 70's.Found a real nice three page article in a old Chevy Performance mag from back then.Car still in its original race form and paint.Has Truppi/Kling on front fenders which is documented in the article.Tony Fiel did the clutch set up,sticker on car still.Came with 14 old trophys. One trophy is from Strato-Rods,Old NJ track now closed. Also recently found my old COPO Camaro that was sold at Malcohm Konners, only blue Deluxe interior Copo Camaro found so far. This car took me 2 years to find, but with help from certain people I located it in Linden NJ in a small 1 car garage.I had this car in 1977 sold it to Brian W,he sold it to Cary V and then sold it to Joe Corbo of Corbo Sunoco.Car ran under the name Blue Mule in NHRA Division 1.Car is also a x-11 and came with a factory tach ,console with guages.Factory tinted glass,am/fm radio with rear speaker.Lemans Blue with vinyl top.So theres many things still sitting idle in garages, just gotta hunt them out!! dan

The cruise night is every other saturday evening from 5 pm to dark. The next one is July 15, then 29, etc. I got there at 3:00 PM to grab that good spot and try to hold another for my 37 Plymouth buddy since I had the longest car of the two. He arrived a few minutes later and there were already 20 or so cars there.

You guys are right about Joysey. There are some hidden treasures still out there. It's where I found my Charger years ago and the guy I got it from also had a black LS6 El Camino, a black 70-1/2 Z28, a green 69 hemi GTX and a bunch of other cars just hidden away.

Hmmm, a Stinger hood on a New Jersey-based Camaro SS 396. Possible Motion car or maybe had work done by Motion? Cars Magazine editor Marty Schorr would have called those rear tires "gigonda."
