Thank you very much guys for the assistance. I work a great deal and do not have the opportunity to respond to emails during the week, so the weekend is the best time for me. Is it possible the shifter Camaro Joe has can be purchased? If not does anyone else know of one available?
Thanks again, Richard. |

Sorry, the shifter pictured is not for sale, was just trying to help give you a visual of what you need to look for. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you get very lucky, its gonna take some serious digging to find one..there are alot of Deuce guys (and probably some GTO guys) still looking for this piece.

Thank you very much for your help Joe. The images you posted did in fact help me. I had been offered a shifter from another fellow and because of your post I was able to determine it was not correct. I will continue to search!

I picked mine up shifter and all for $35. from a pontiac guy so they are out there just keep looking and ask for them. They don't seem to be of great value to the pontiac guys so be sure and ask and you may find they have one laying around just never knew what it was. good luck!

There have been two arms sold on EBAY recently, perhaps 'bigchevydaddy' can hook you up with one of them

A guy picks up one 4177 for possible future use and gets trashed. Guess I'll have to start using an ebay alias. Actually, I picked it up to compare the handle to the earlier GTO bench handles to see if they were the same. The earlier ('66 and prior) bench handles are about an inch taller than the '67 and up bench handles. The mounting is different, of course. I'd planned to modify an earlier handle to fit on an aftermarket hurst '69 camaro shifter and mount it to look like the deuce shifter setup for my '70 Nova project, just to have people scratch their heads..... And no, it's NOT a deuce clone. Mine retains the side molding.
If a deuce owner needs a 4177 handle for his/her legitimate car, and not to stockpile/flip then I'm happy to talk. Thanks, BCD. |

Hey, I'm not trashing, just noticed that I got outbid on them
![]() ![]() BTW; the 3 speed bench seat arms are longer, and have a different bend to them. The difference is easy to see when next to a 4 speed version, but can be harder to spot when by itself. The 4speed version was also available on the Tempest, same application number #4177.
