Tony,
The credit for that discovery goes to you. Do you recall the newspaper clipping with the track car assignment#'s by name? |

Re: 1967 Pace Car Indianapolis Photos and memorabilia
Sure I do Phil!!
I feel in a lot of ways that's one of our Big finds for us Pace Car nuts....but, I don't remember any reference to Little Joe in those Assignments. E.B Hibbs was the Assignee to #23. He also sponsored Molly Morgan, so she was shuttled in your rig to all the Queen's Court activities! So, Little Joe is pictured in #23 somewhere? |

Did you ever consider trying to track down the assignees?
I will bet they (or the estates) have photos. |

Re: 1967 Pace Car Indianapolis Photos and memorabilia
Phil!
This is why I selected "ONE LAST RACE" as the title of the book that I've slowly been writing, they are almost all gone now! I've contacted every surviving name on the list of 43 that I could find. I believe the actual total was six. One of the guys had me read the names of the other Assignees to him in hopes he could help me find his old friends... In every case, except maybe 3 or 4, I was told they had passed away. The other 3 or 4 he had no idea what happened to them. When I checked the Festival Program from 1967, there were pictures of the people who received the replicas....Phil!! most of them were old timers in 1967 !!!!!!!!!!! Add 40 years and the race against time is almost lost! |
