There were plenty to choose from. That cowl panel was in a one shape and the top of the firewall was a little ratty by the wiper motor if I remember correctly. Just stay away from the code 26 Rally Nova please. I want to see if he would sell it whole....LOL

A few weeks ago on craigslist I came across an ad that stated, "Parting out 1969 Chevelle." There was a single 3/4 front picture showing what looked like an SS rally wheel, but no mention of SS in the ad. I called, and sure enough it was a real SS car. Original Cortez Silver with a Parchment interior and factory 4-speed. The disc brakes (already sold) and two rallys were the only worthwhile parts left on the car. I ended up with the rallys. Not a salvageable panel on it, except for the floorpan. I guess the car had been rolled over a decade ago and had been sitting in the towing yard ever since. Sad end to what must have been a beautiful car when new.

-----Rainer,,,Awhile back I asked the question "do 69 Chevelle SSs sometimes come with thin pinstripes" and this car would tend to answer that question. Was it original paint? I sort of remembered seeing SSs with the thin stripes and like the look on the right car......Bill S

Bill - I didn't look that closely, but I believe the car had been repainted at some point because the paint still had gloss to it. I don't think it would have held up like that if it had been the original lacquer.
