The Petty Museum Superbird is not an original Nascar Superbird. It was never even used in competition. It's a clone that was put together by the Petty's in the very late 70's out of spare parts they had lying around because Richard thought he should have one since he thought then that they were a piece of history.

There is a real Petty Superbird that is the only survivor out of the 2 he had that year in the hands of a collector in Virginia. It's supposedly unrestored and the guy built a special room in his house especially for the car. The same guy also has the 1984 Pontiac "200th Win" car.
