There are three classes of GM vehicles for which you can get paperwork: 1. All Pontiacs (Pontiac Historical Services) 2. All Canadian-built Chevys (GM of Canada) 3. All US-built Chevys sold new in Canada (GM of Canada) That's it - nothing more for Chevys.

Rainer,
That's what I always thought too. But somewhere on this forum (can't find it) there is a document posted from GM of Canada for a new US built Chevy that was also sold from a US dealer. (I think I said it was a PHS doc by mistake) So, my question is, how is it that GM of Canada had that record, and if they have that one, how many more do they have? ![]() |

Just an FYI... 220 interior code is Dark Turquoise, not Blue. Although the pictures appear to be blue. Could be a color change or just faded. LL exterior paint code is Marina Turquoise. I had the same 4 spd 66 with that interior and exterior colors. Great color combo on a 66 GTO! Jim

That sounds like the only plausible explanation Charley. I figured GM of Canada must have gotten their records directly from the plants, but in this case, it must have come from either the 1st owner who was required to submit a copy of the window sticker, or perhaps it passed through a dealer in Canada who was required to submit the info. You know, it probably wouldn't hurt to test the system again by submitting a known US car through GM of Canada just to see what happens...
![]() It would certainly be a ground-breaking revelation for the hobby if per chance the US plants turned their production info over to Canada for the "master file"..... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

One other thought - wasn't there someone on the board here who recently got docs for a late 70's or early 80's Chevy? Could that be the one you're thinking of? IIRC, docs going back to that time frame are available.

Yep! That's it alright. And according to Steve, it never went to Canada! It would be nice to hear what prompted Steve to contact GM of Canada for docs.
