Nice find. I wish I could stumble across a find like that.

I checked out the PhotoBucket pics and see that you took a pic of what you are calling the "original" carb. Can I please get the carb numbers. I can't really make them out. Thanks.

TwoBryans:
The stamping on the carburetor is 29268WF with a date code of 0779. According to Alan Colvin sometimes the 70 prefix is missing on some stampings and that's where I quit looking. Because of the date code I assumed it was the original carb and did not check my books. It is obviously a replacement at some point. You might have done the same if you saw this Chevellle. Everything on it is pretty much unchanged including the belt and the hoses. The original owner replaced the thermostat at some point so the upper hose is missing one of the tower clamps. Ed

COPO427: You just did! Ed [/ QUOTE ] I mean, up here in Ontario from a widow. Kidding aside, I'm looking for a Canadian car (4-spd,bucket seats, ZL2). With the dollar difference and 6% GST added coming across the border (no FREE TRADE here) and waiting for Customs to clear the car of leans 2 days prior to crossing the border seems a bit of a pain.

COPO427:
I shipped cars both ways across the border last year to Calgary, Alberta and back and didn't have any problems. The trick appears to be to send all of the paperwork to Customs in advance. They are very friendly and I think they appreciate getting the paperwork up front. Crossing was a no-brainer. Ed

If it was in Ont Can, I'd think seriously about it. I just like the peace if mind to get a Canadian car so I can call George up and run the VIN for the RPO codes. But, ya, I see that this is a fully documented car.

I have to say, that is quite possibly the most well photographed car I have seen in a long time. The slideshow is fantastic.
