Default Ralph Nader vs. Corvair

The photo of Ralph Nader in Bruce's Pavilions photos got me thining: How come Nader went after the Corvair and not the VW? Wasn't his attack on the Corvair over its swing-axle rear suspension and how it would fold under during hard cornering, flipping the car? The VW had the same swing axle design, right?

They were worse. -and they kept that rear setup until '69 (I think the bus kept it a few years longer). Nader mentioned it but wanted to play David & Goliath at home. I believe at the time Nader was on his rant, GM was already designing the new 'Vette style rear for the 'Vair. His book came out in '65. He sucks.

Anyone have anthing else to add?

Has Nader ever gotten a permit to drive yet, he never did when he wrote the book, Has he ever owned a CAR ?, He's like so many people today that have all the answers , but don't know $hit about what they are talking about.

When I called GM to register my Vair, the girl asked if they had built it, she had to go to the computer to find it on the list, she said no one had ever called on a Corvair before...I can believe it>. ...Kasey

The man has probably done as much damage to our society as any living so-called American. LBJ and M.M. O'hara are dead, thank God.

How can you add to that?

"In 1971, Nader pressured one of his associates, Lowell Dodge, to sex up his study "Small on Safety: The Designed-in Dangers of the Volkswagen."

I remember a family member gave me this book after I bought my third VW. I traded it for a motorcycle and bought my first Chevy a few months later.
