Default Need Help Authenticating 68 L78 Camaro

Looking to buy 68 Camaro supposedly original RS/SS L78 car. From what I know, the cowl tag on a 68 isn't very helpful. Also, the block has been decked and no paperwork. Has proper heater core for big block, 6k redline tach, 12 bolt and multileafs. Wondering if anyone can help me identify items to look for that must be present on 68 L78 or big block Camaro. Thanks

Does it have a single 3/8 fuel line?

HawaiianCamaro (thanks) helped me decode the trim tag as follows:

02D = Built the Fourth week of February.
68-12437 = Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
712 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
J-2 = Lower Color is Rallye Green and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.

I guess nothing special on tag. I will be getting the car on a lift tomorrow to check fuel line, rear and trans. Thanks for the help. Let you know what I find.

Take a very GOOD picture of how the fuel line terminates.
Therein lies a very big clue,(SB -vs- BB) if, now if it has not been altered.

375hp, you need legit paper or born with components that all point to required equip,,,,

Auto??

Thanks Jim. Car is a 4 speed. Checked the numbers today on transmission. It is a 1968 Muncie but a replacement transmission. Had opportunity to check fuel line to see if 3/8 thanks to Stefano's tip. It is 3/8. There is only one line; however, the clips that the line is mounted in have a place for a return line even though there is no return line. The 3/8 line runs in the top clip, if that makes any sense.

Didn't pay attention to how fuel line terminates. Can you give me a tip as to what about how it terminates I should be looking for. And is it at the tank or fuel pump that you are speaking about?

Also, does anyone have a picture that they can post to show where the speedometer cable should exit on a Big Block Muncie car? Thanks again.
