Is this a 69 block? There should be a date code on the driver's side of the block.

While I'm on the topic...does anyone know what's the real story with the 052 cast blocks?? screw-in freeze plugs?? push-in freeze plugs?? how about production numbers?? I had an article saying 188 blocks total?? but It seems I've seen atleast 500 for sale in the last 5 years?? Were they all made in 69?? Thanks, Max

They recast them starting in the last five years or so... I thought that was when they changed to screw in freezeplugs and a few other things...

I guess my question is...Why is this one NOT dated?? Was it over the counter..but, just built earlier than the 053s?? or was it later than 69 and they just did not date them at that point?? any ideas??
