Anyway, please lock me out of sYc! I have been biting my tongue since Friday over the posts on that site. So please, just lock out my username for good.

Either I seem to be the wrong element or I just don’t see eye to eye with the general group.

john,
i don't think you gave this site and it's members much of a chance. most of your posts were about your car. and about the big vote coming up in hemmings. it was all mostly self promoting.
while we do have another member here who is just like that, most are not.
this site is about the people, the events and the cars.
i thought the alter ego was funny and it brought a little life to this place lately.
i don't think any less of you for it and it is all in the past as far as i am concerened.
i have made many wonderful friends thru this club, and this group is a great bunch.
come on back, join in on some discussions, enjoy the site and the people, and have a great time!
i promise you will be glad you did.

If I may politely add something-

While I think the car is beautiful, and kinda "get" the purpose of it since reading the HMM article, I'm a little confused here.

Building a super duper high quality forgery of anything is PROVACATIVE, regardless of your intentions. It's a bold and brash statement to show people that they cannot always believe their own eyes and judgement. You're seeming to seek a lot of validation for this exercise. I don't know if that's realistic. It's not likely to come for a while, if ever, since the overall acceptance of this car and this effort is still being digested by the hobby. If you built it and it has thus far accomplished your goals, that may have to be enough. Ultimately your message here isn't a hopeful one-its pointing out that no matter how well you know something, you can probably get screwed anyway. While true, you're not likely to get applauded for speaking the hard truth.

This board may not be the most receptive to the message of your car, because many members here have already experienced well done hoaxes. The problem is that they weren't learning exercises, they were attempts to fleece money from them. I don't think that anyone who's seriously pursued a real 435 Corvette or LS6 Chevelle is unaware of the tragic yet impressive near artistry of faked stamping pads or phony documentation.

Good luck to you.

TOM

I completely agree with Shor...there ARE a great group of people that hang on this site.

I think that your car is beautiful...I think that you have a lot of talent as well.

You made your point quite well I thought...but really, it's time for bigger and better things.

In fact...why don't you send me some picsa and a write up on your Nova...?

Anyone ever think of what the owner to the One and Only real Z28 Ragtop thinks

BTW, Bruce gets my vote if Charley is his female VP.

Hey Andy...I responded to your PM

See you in January as well...

Stefano, the mental picture of Charley in drag is almost too much to bear!
