I bought what I think is an original 1970 SS 14x7 AO code wheel and F/70/14 Goodyear tire. I had planned on using this in my 1970 Nova as a spare. Can somebody tell me about the code of A3NL L8CO on the tire please.

NL is a code for one of the Goodyear processing plants that I think was in Ohio during late 60's-early 70's,and the format after it is vintage from that time period. What year exactly I don't know as not all the codes have been deciphered. It looks like yours is one of those codes...Is it a belted bias-ply?
Wouldn't you rather have a correct E70X14 white stripe for your SS Nova? |

I am sorry but I was not near the computer that I had loaded the pictures on. The tire is belted. So F/70/14 was never installed on a SS Nova in 1970?

It shouldn't have Mark. They originally came with a PL1-E70X14 white stripe (not white lettered) tire,be it mounted on the standard super sport ZJ7-Rally (derby cap) rim,or the optional N66-Magnum 500 (SS) rim. |
