Is is possible that Dick created the "Fred Gibb" crest for use on the cars?

Darren, I think Yenko did them first and ask Harrell not to use it. That was on here months ago. Kim

Why would the Yenko organization allow that and not sue the offending party into the stone age? Or, did they? Steve [/ QUOTE ] They did not pursue it, and really had no grounds to do so. After selling the dealership in 1982, and then Don's untimely death in '87, no one kept the mark up. They could have done this one of two ways, either by using it in commerce on a regular basis, or renew the original registration.

I think that talk was several years ago.

I think that talk was several years ago. [/ QUOTE ] Kim, I had to go check and make sure my memory was working right this is the post I read last summer..and you are correct she says it was a conversation they had awhile ago. The bottom paragraph is what I recalled reading. General / Discussion / THE EVOLUTION OF THE ZL-1 CARS Jul 7th, 2004, 9:29pm Started by TimLopataForgeShow | Post by valerieharrell Dearest Jimmy, Thank you for stepping up to the plate and straightening out this ZL1 issue! Also, you are more than welcome to be as long winded as you want! You may even have to post two or more posts to get all the facts written. For those who may or may not know what this is all about, there are some extremely slanted stories that are being quoted by certain individuals that are being written by a few well known car magazines. I will scan and post those articles. In the meantime, the DHPC guys who have the grease under their fingernails from turning the wrenches on the ZL1 cars ARE still alive, mean and lean, with minds as sharp as ever. And I am certain that they will be commenting on this subject. Mostly, I am very thankful the most of DH guys who are registered on this site, who have computers and that Jimmy Elgan, and the rest (Dave Libby, Glenn Powell, Larry Leatherman, etc) have stepped up to correct the slanted stories that are being published by Primedia and Buckaroo Communications & other mags. The next best thing would be to contact the person who is rewriting history, i.e., the publisher, & editors of the magazines for a retraction, just like I am attempting to do myself. Then per a conversation I had with Helen Gibb over a year and a half ago.....I called her after 33 years after Dad's death (I thought I was doing a good thing by finding her phone number & wish her a Merry Christmas), "Valerie, just so you know, your father only put a few parts on those cars, Freddie did all the rest." Well, to say the least I was so hurt and speechless. Dad DID teach me to NOT disrespect my elders....and certainly the elderly. I politely ended the conversation and went on my Merry Christmas way. However, I have to say that I was deeply hurt & sadden ..... and certain that Dad would be upside down right now if he knew that he only put on a few parts. It's a real shame because Fred Gibb was a TRUE gentleman and Fred & my father had great business partnership. If not for the Dick Harrell crew, DHPC and Dick Harrell, no one would have ever heard or known of that little Chevrolet dealership in LaHarpe. |

Guys!
How did we digress from the original subject matter? ![]() I guess I started it with my questions/comments about the DH emblem I recently purchased. Seems I even got an email from DHPC inviting me to return the emblem for a refund. I was trying to learn more from this gathering of friendly and knowledgeable people about the "reality" of the whole DH thing, not bash anybody. If anyone got their feelings hurt, I am sorry for that. ![]() I hope this topic can continue on the opening questions I had about the DH 69 Camaros. This has been quite an informative topic thus far. ![]() Steve
