I am getting ready to get rid of my old Nikon 990 for a Nikon D70 digital SLR. You can use the regular SLR lenses with it.

Chuck,
Don't know what you want to spend but I would recommend the new Canon PowerShot SD300 if you want a point and shoot. It's got a new whiz-bang processor that allows faster processing, better image quality, etc. Just as importantly, it's got a big LCD screen without sacrificing overall form factor. Better for checking whether or not you actually got the picture you wanted, especially if you're trying to get a part number shot, etc. Canon PowerShot SD300 ![]() www.dpreview.com is indeed the best site for technical product reviews. For pricing you might check www.cnet.com Mail order from B&H Photo or Adorama in New York or Samy's in LA are all ok, but you might be able to find one locally for the same price. Oh, and I'd recommend getting at least a 256mb flash memory card and if you can find one, one of the Lexar or Sandisk one's developed especially for cameras (I think there is a memory review on dpreview). ![]()

Just got a Kodak DX7590 (Consumers reports best buy) it comes with 10x zoom plus digital zoom. 5 mega pixels and lots of features can shoot up to 4 frames per second which is great for action shots and sports . All of the cameras mentioned are nice so whatever the choice you should be ok.
