I agree on both points

NICE car, it looks awesome as is ...

on to the pet peeves ...

WHY are SO many Camaros (especially 69's) out there with the emblems installed so far &quot;off&quot;???

That almost bugs me more than the people that put new grilles in them without painting body color around the perimeter ...

details, it is the details ...

I think Donnie is referring to what some have found on some original `69 Chevelles. Camaros may never had the metal caps.
Here's an original 67K mile Jan. built `69 Chevelle.

Steve, I dont have any information only my observations over the years.
that either kind could be on a 69.
so it sounds like the majority of Camaros got the plastic cap and the majority of Chevelles got the metal cap.
but sense both types were used in 69 you could be the minority. as Bills car is my Chevelle also has the plastic cap and it appears original to the car.
and I dont want some judge at a show taking off points and telling me its NOT correct.

sorry about getting this off track Dan

Hi Donnie,

I missed your reference to Chevelles. My understanding is that for Chevelles the plastic cap was a mid year introduction. Again I was exclusively talking about the Camaro. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks a lot Eric! Means a lot to me coming from you!

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: 70COPO</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> More than just the emblem...grill should be argent silver and the surround should be body color.....grill and surround must have been replaced at some point huh?? Cool find!! </div></div>

I never really checked to be honest. I will tonight. Its got some horrible overspray in the grill area. About 50% original paint remains.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: [email protected]</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Dave and Dan.....I would take that car down to the local spray car wash and gently hit the engine bay with some power water and take it home and Boeshield or WD-40 everything under the hood and then wipe it down or spray some on a rag and wipe all metal. Will look good and preserve some of what is left of the paint and toning. </div></div>

Thats the plan, Sammy. Just need to find the time. The motor compartment is dirt but with gentle cleaning we'll be able to preserve her!

Great car Dan....enjoy it! I had to do a double take when I first saw your photos because there is almost an exact duplicate of your car in the Syracuse area. Original owner still owns it and is going to restore it some day, one of those deals.

For inquiring minds, my early 68 dated Z had a plastic cap. Been swamped at work, new job, but will try for a photo tomorrow.

Thanks again for the compliments. Mike - I'd love to see some photos of that car. Could you email me some? Thanks buddy.
