Default Futureliner

A Swedish guy has bought one of the remaining Futureliners and is going to restore it. His father is known for having restored a British Petroleum truck used for transporting gasoline.
The article states that twelve Futureliners were built originally and that there are nine remaining. Two of those are said to be beond rescue.

Cool! Do the two cars in the foreground of the picture belong to him too? Wonder where he got the scale model of the Futureliner?

I had a small part in the Futurliner story when the NATMUS unit resto was going on a few years back..
When the FIDO unit reached the bid it did at BJ, it made the remaining units worth reconsidering resto costs and values..

Click here for all things Futurliner (no 'e' as GM originally registered the name this way).

It's a great chapter of GM history and the models and all are available there!.

Yes I saw an article about that, they had some real trouble finding a shipping solution to bring it to Sweden. That thing is huge!

He is going to restore it, have to make a lot of new parts.

Charley or Colin better hurry up and obtain one before they're all gone..

Great Power Tour vehicle. Heck, you could probably stuff an Isetta in the belly and cruise the streets at nite.

Very cool vehicle. When the one sold at BJ for 4 mil I just didn't get it. The more I look at the pics and read about them the more I can appreciate how unique they are.

It would be amazing to get the remaing 7 together again!!

I spent an hour reading the details of the restoration of #10. What a great story.
