Default Anyone restore ignition coils ??

Hi, like the title says, anyone restore ignition coils ?? I picked one up a couple weeks ago and would like to get it checked out and restored if possible.

I think the Vette guys repop them and do not rebuild them.

Try Dave Crane of Cranes corvettes in San diego, he may have orginals in nice shape or the best looking repops for the Ti stuff from my experiance. 858-864-2883 good luck.

If they are NOT leaking and so forth you can do them yourself!

Really, I didn't know that . There may be nothing wrong with the one I have. I have not tested it yet. It has a small dent in the bottom and looks like it needs to be stripped or blasted and repainted. It doesn't look like it ever leaked, but its 42 years old. Its a one year only coil from what I have been told and I have not seen a repop of it yet. Its a # 242 Delco Remy coil.

There is only so much you can do to test them 'on the bench.' If it doesn't stand up on the car under a load then Paul Baker a.k.a. Goat Hill Classics sells repops but that is a whole different thread...
