Default Ignition shield

While at the Gibb Show last weekend my Chevelle decided to show her contrary side and quit running just as I was maneuvering into our assigned spot. First I thought I ran out of fuel (as documented by Kwhizz's photos). Not the problem.
After some brainstorming from all of us in the peanut gallery, Jerry Burford ran to his house and brought his dwell meter. Final assessment ??????? Well, we're not exactly sure but whatever it was, Jerry fixed it. A huge Thank You to Jerry.

Anyway, a few of the folks were somewhat surprised to see I still had the OE ignition shield pieces in place after nearly 40 years. I elected NOT to replace them at the show for fear of dropping one or both the screws either on the ground or into the distributor. I'll get to that later this week. Even I was surprised to find the paper tag still attached to the shield. Thought some of the more anal among us might get a kick out of seeing this.

Did you happen to measure the length and width?

Here's a few pictures I took recently..
Shield measures 3-3/8" X 3-1/4" at widest points.
Decal measures 1" X 5/8".
