Default Grand National transmission

I can't seem to get to the Turbo Buick site at all this week so I will ask this question here.
I went to drive my GN to work today but it will not shift from REV to Neutral, Drive, etc. It will shift to REV and Park but that is it.
Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

The problem is it's incomplete information.

Is the shifter not moving as in binding, or does it just not pull in forward?

The shifter will move from Park to Rev but will NOT go beyond that. It will also go back into Park easily and actually moves backward once in Rev.

I would get under the car to check the cable and linkage. Then unhook the cable from the sector to see if the prob. is in the shifter or trans.

Thanks guys. I should mention that I installed a security system this week that required dropping the steering column down. Is there something near the column under the dash that could be messed up now?

Finally found the problem and corrected it. It was a problem with the backdrive linkage. Thanks guys.
