Talking with a friend of mine last nite. She was telling me her husband went to renew his driver lic. The state of Iowa informed him that he lost his lic in Ill. in 1969 for a OWI.
The county involved is Kane Co. Ill. He was given aphone # to to call that county. After talking with them, they explained to him they have NO record that he took care of this problem. That was 40 years ago!!!! He has renewed his lic in Iowa I would say 15 times since then. The state of Ill. wants him to prove he had a lic. all those years. Problem is Iowa destroys records after 6 years. He can't prove he's had a lic. over 6 years!!! What a crock of CRAP.
Good old Goverment. Can't wait for Health Care.

You are right WOW! That was really worth keeping records of something like that for 40 years.

The statue of limitations pertain to the DMV just as it does to criminals. They are idiots to even bring this up. He can prove he had a license for the last 6 years so what do they think he was doing for the other 34 years, riding a bicycle?
