Cragar SS 15x3 wheels 5x4 3/4 have 5x4.5 to trade
Looking to get a set of Chevy lug pattern wheels in similar condition to these Ford/Mopar ones I have.
I would gladly trade these, if anyone is interested. I'm fairly certain this is the wrong board for that deal though. If anyone wants to point me in a direction to where these might be more desired, I think I'm gonna have to sell these and just buy what I need. Here are the pics of what I have to get an idea on condition. Overall presentable chrome with minor pitting, area around lugs decent/fair, no curb rash etc. Without your input, they will likely end up going on the auction site. I would really love to find these in a GM pattern, so what is out there?

Couldn't you have your hubs drilled to match the wheels?

Re: Cragar SS 15x3 wheels 5x4 3/4 have 5x4.5 to trade
It's challending to find these old wheels. The lug specific ones especially, and the 15x3 have been NLA for a long time.
I thought I remembered reading somoene who posted on here that the shape of the spokes have recently changed. Do we know when that happened? I recently went to the Cragar web site to see what was there. Looks like two brothers recently bought the company. They also have a new all aluminum Cragar SS wheel. I suspect the change in the shape of the spoke follows with the introduction of all aluminum design. Anyone want to speculate how long till the Cragar SS as we know if changes for good? There are some rusty ones that just went up on ebay for $345, but they aren't nearly as clean. |

I have 2-15x8 and 3-15X7 that are pull offs and in good shape as to curb damage and being bent or holes out of shape. They will need re chrome. not rust pitted too badly, just the usual chrome peal off the spokes.

Re: Cragar SS 15x3 wheels 5x4 3/4 have 5x4.5 to trade
Thanks John, I've reached out to this fellow for my dad, Plowman. Although that is not exactally what we are looking for they would certainly work well.
The 15x4.5 is more popular and still available in unilug. The 3.5" wheels have not been made for a long time. I was calling them 15x3, but it turns out it is 3.5" wide. Regardless those 3.5" skinnies are very rare. |

Re: Cragar SS 15x3 wheels 5x4 3/4 have 5x4.5 to trade
Thanks guys,
I got a couple of calls and E-mails. I will get the wheels down (stored upstair in shop) this week end and shoot a couple of pictures. I haven't looked at them in over 15 years. At this point I'm sure they are not in pristine condition. I had them on a 67 Vette I bought in 68... I think I still have a scrapbook picture or two. I also had some Cragars on a 69 Z-28 that I drag raced in the early '70's. At one time it had the 3.5's all the way around.. we were trying to see if we could get better traction with the 7" Firestone slicks we had to run as per NHRA rules. We set a couple of "Records" with that car and won a National Event. All on the Cragars... I appreciate how those Cragars made my cars look good! :~) Adger Smith Adger Smith Performance Engines 2802 W 7TH ST Texarkana TX 903-794-7223 shop 903-824-4924 cell [email protected] E-mail www.adgersperf.com web site(no mail) |
