1970 L78 Camaro AUTOMATIC?
Not to beat the dead horse, but I couldn't find that old thread regarding that ONE car. I am thinking of building a 70 Camaro L78 car for FAST/SUPERCARS, to match my original one. I want to run an automatic. Upon speaking with Terry Pennington about the authenticity of such a car. He said I needed to provide some proof. Which, other than that one thread and the 5K bet, I haven't found anything. What was the outcome?

I believe that Ed(?) has some original Scuncio paperwork showing a 1970 L78 TH400 Camaro as well.

Hi Andrew...
It's in the current NHRA Classification Guide which means it's legal for both Stock and Super Stock in NHRA land. 402-375 HP with TH is factored to 395 HP with stock heads. Shipping weight of 3511 pounds, using the NHRA system of factor of 8.89 X factored HP of 395. Anyway, for what its worth, they accept it. Hope this helps. Wayne ('Sled)

There is no further news on the white one pictured. The owner has been accused of faking the car enough by internet experts that he has no further interest in proving it is real. I know it is real. The Sacramento Camaro club people know it is real. he has the build sheet and has shown it to club members. I'll up my bet to 10,000.00 that the car and paperwork are real. Jack knows as much about 70 Camaro's as anyone.

That’s weird, an automatic deluxe interior 375 car with a wood grain console plate.
The 4 speed 375 cars had a black plate with deluxe interior.
