Cool Shot , I've got some drag racing from 1986 Super Chevy Sunday at Maple Grove but it's too long a video to post on Youtube , I'm trying to find some software to edit it .

Looks like a NHRA Points Meet at the Grove. I bet I was there. Might be Grumps Pro Stock 69 car and I see Charlie Castaldo's Mopar and even the old Pink Panther Plymouth. Harry Luzaders 32-33 Ford D/Gassers may be in the background too. Early 70's.

Now, that is a kewl pictures. I spent enough money as a kid, as a spectator, then a participant to put the kids thru college! AHH...it was worth it. That's me on the left with my former SC Lumina. Sold the car a couple of years ago to Jim Fordyce. Great guy. My brutha-frum-anuther-mutha is to my left....John Gavio. He's been turning wrenches for Bill Mayo in Comp the last 5 years w/Sal doing the driving. Maple Grove is one of a kind place to call a home track!

I know who John Gavio is. I thought he looked familiar. I also know Bill Mayo. The old K+G group from Havertown, Pa. Bill M. bought Bob Keiser's old place I believe. I also think he sold his D/EA car to Vinny Barone and just runs the dragster at this point. Biondo went to the Vinny Barone camp.

Gav is the best. We've been brothers for the past 25 years.
Bill is a close friend too.....can't say that about many people.
Bill has had my son Michael's tribute on his cars since 9/2000. Yea, Bill sold the Baretta to Vinnie for a great number $$$! and still has the dragster built by Kurt of ProStart. He built the Z-34 Lumina for us too! What a great mind and unbievable car Kurt builds. Too much politics in Comp for me.....but it's fun to listen to all the behind the scene crap that goes on.
Here's John at Virginia in my ex-car. Really miss that car, but after losing my son to leukemia, you don't strap yourself in a 170mph car without 110% focus....

Oh by the way............

John's the best.......PERIOD!

Some great photos! Thanks for sharing. Looks like you fellas have a great friendship that has many, many years left! In this world, there are "acquaintances"........and then there are "friends". People tend to confuse those two things but there's a whole world of difference between the two. You......have a friend.
