Default BB Alum head ID help...3919842 casting 5-17-66 ??

..did they make them that early or are they later service dates? 1976? or 1986? Thanks...

also 3904392 dated 3-1-67...L-88/89 correct? Would this head be a matched pair to the 842? How about value opinions? Worth more separate than together?
Thanks, Max

Max,

GM made several "Heavy Duty" 66 427 Corvettes. which were the precurser to the 67 L-88. These were a back door item sold to racers. So if they had pre-production L-88 mtors in 66 cars they had to have produced and tested the parts for them earlier. If you are looking to sell it the most value would be for a Corvete collector with a 66 HD car. So an ad in the NCRS driveline would be the best marketing for that piece. You need to be a NCRS member to place the ad so if you have a friend that is a member have them place the ad for you.
As far as value...I can't help there.

Hope his helps, Rich

The 392s are worth alot more than a 842s IMHO.Probably a 68 dated 842 not a 66.As I have never seen one that early. I have a pair of 842s dated later in 67 and a single 392 to match yours if you need it.Jeff

NCRS shows 842 heads were used on 68 L88 and L89 and on 69 L89's too.
