Default Photo of a real 69 rad cap?

I know there's pics somewhere here, of an original 69 Chevy rad cap, but I can't find a pic. Anyone have a close up pic of an RC-15, or know where it might be on syc?

Thanks Wayne... I think I have one coming. Does anyone restore them, or am I on my own?

Try Pete Lindahl at [email protected] or (505) 663-0995. He is a good fellow with an extensive knowledge of caps.

Most likely this flat rivit one,but not unheard of to be the divit rivit in the second pic too,if assembled early.

I like the first picture Rick. Bill, you can do it yourself. many times they really don't need anything just cleaned up and some WD-40 soaking to help the gasket out a little. Sam Griffith (Mockingbird) I believe has the cap resto. down pat.

Thanks for all the pictures gentlemen. My only concern with an old cap, is that it works/holds pressure, unless it's just used for shows. Thanks again.

Personally, I've had a bunch of original caps restored and when they are done, I use them just for show. Otherwise, I put a new cap on and drive on, Garth. That's not to say a restored cap won't work just fine but, after the investment, I feel better letting it be a trailer queen while a new cap does the work.

Regards,

Mark
