IMHO a bad idea
but it is your car, do whatever you want to it to suit YOUR taste however you will pay dearly when it comes time to sell

Real COPO? Leave it Lemans Blue, its an awesome color in itself. I am a big fan of black, my first car was a 69 triple black SS Chevelle. Clone, doesn't matter so much. But I second what Jim says, you will pay dearly on the back side.

x3. LeMans Blue is a great original color, you'll pay for the decision later $$$. Killer Black isn't that much cooler than killer Lemans Blue IMO.....good luck with your decision.

Not on the same level as a COPO, but my 72 Camaro SS car had a color change from Midnight Bronze to Midnight Blue. Other than color, it is a very nice all original, well documented, numbers car. I've had people interested in buying it, but the color change has held them back. I say stick with the original color.

Most collectors of rare cars, such as copo, yenko, and motion will expect the original color. When selling, expect a 10-15K drop in selling price for the next owner to repaint. Just depends on if the car is going to be sold right after painting or the owner is getting some enjoyment out of the car before selling to offset the lower selling price do to color change.

Well, I'm certainly the wrong person to ask about changing a colour from Lemans Blue as it has always been my favourite GM colour. Black is certainly cool, and a Black COPO would be even more cool, but for such a unique car I agree with the others.

Lemans Blue is just as nice as a black car,why bother?
I agree with everyone else and personally i have never bought a car with a color change from what it was born with.

LB COPO Chevelle how many of those are around? Not as many as there are Black chevelles which shouldn't be, that's for sure. LB is my favorite GM color.
