Day 2 is a term I see lots of people using loosely, especially with guys trying to sell old speed parts. I first heard of the term form Dave "whitetop" on this site. I did a quick search and found this early thread referencing Day 2 mods.

I don't know if he coined the phrase, but I wouldn't mind confirming what others think/know where the term came from. I kinda feel the spirit of a "day 2" mod might be mods and parts put on a car during the timeline which was typical for a car loan on these cars. What would that be about 3 years?
Seems like the mods done in the mid to late 1970's probably wouldn't be considered a day 2 mod anymore. Kinda starts falling into the street freak theme or just plain vintage speed parts.
The door is open on where to draw the line on day 2 vs "period correct" but I am interested to see what others think.
