Default 3955272 Block

I have a 272 block that I picked up many years ago. It's a four bolt block with the pipe plugs above the oil filter boss. I can't really make out the casting date. With the casting number, it appears that the block was cast with the second digit missing then hand stamped with the "9". You can see the rough casting area around the 9. Anyone else seen this?
