70 Chevelle Body and Restored Frame Value

Hey Guys, I posted this over at team Chevelle and did not get a ton of response. I thought I would also post it here to see if I could get some more opinions:

I just bought a 70 Malibu that has been sitting for 20 years. I bought it from the grandson of the original owner. He disassembled the car and separated the body from the frame. He then had the frame stripped, galvanized, and painted. New springs, ball joints, sway bars, KYB shocks, a 70 3.31 posi 12 bolt, etc. were installed. A ZZ1 and TCI TH350 were also purchased. I bought the car for the crate engine/trans and various other parts I needed.

The body is a very clean CA example. There is rear window rust but no other body issues other than surface rust.

My question is: A) What is the body shell worth? B) What is the restored frame worth?

I know there are alot of variables, just looking for a general idea. The car started life as a 350 2 barrel, auto, w/ A/C and was frost green with white bench interior. It is a one family owned car with about 75K original miles.

Nobody? I think I am just going to part it out. I know it is kind of a shame but at the same time the nice original parts will get used on cars. The door panels, etc are in unreal shape. Maybe someone can use the body for a nice hot rod with repro interior parts, etc. time will tell.

why not put it back together? Sell it on ebay as a rust free roller / LS6 clone candidate

unless you think you can get MORE by parting it out ...

Its not that I do not want to put it back together. It is the snowball effect that I am worried about. If I am going to put it on the frame, I might as well detail the underside first. If I am going to put it on the rotisserie to do the underside, I might as well have it stripped. Once I do that, I might as well put the drivetrain on the frame............the snowball continues.

it is a rust free CA car, just put it back together, anyone from the rustbelt states would LOVE to have a car so clean .... no one can get the car delivered to them the way it is now ....

I do not know if this helps, nor is it a '70 value, but I just sold a concourse restored, no expense spared '69 Chevelle L78 frame (with build sheet to prove it) for $4,850. That included restored power steering system, AO restored wheels, new Goodyears RWL from Kelsey Tire, restored 12 bolt with brand new axles, seals and pumpkin, and every other brand new suspension item from Moog. I thought it went cheap but nonetheless, we were happy.

Thanks, I posted the frame on craigslist last night minus the 12 bolt for $1500. I also posted the body for $3000. If they don't sell I may assemble the body and frame as Jim suggested and go from there.
