I see that i am not the only one building a 67 Z. I once again continue to learn from the knowledgeable folks here. Thanks again Supercar sight!
My Smokey MO302 motor came complete with clutch, bell, etc. The problem is the bell is painted orange...for that matter the exhaust manifolds are also. The manifolds don't matter because I am using headers anyway. But I thought the bell should be bare aluminum. And I recently learned that there is at times overspray on the ends of the intake...but, what about the bell?? or was that attached after the engine was painted?? |

Can't speak to 67, but in 69, the bell housing was in place when the engine was painted. There is almost always some orange overspray on the bell housing, and cases where the entire bell housing was painted. My 621 was all orange when I bought it. I suspect it was original, but I have no proof.
I suspect 67 and 69 were the same, but not positive. |
