Default Accident at Pavillions...

For those who may have been there...or may know anything about what happened.

From the Cruisingaz website

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Accident At Pavillions 11/20/2010
On Nov. 20 about 6:45pm my wife and I parked our vehicle across the street from the McDonalds at the Pavilions. As we were crossing the street to join friends my wife was struck by a Porsche that was turning left onto Indian Bend road from the McDonalds parking lot. It happened in a flash and I went with Police to the hospital behind the ambulance. If any one witnessed the accident and could help fill in the blanks, I would be grateful if they would contact me at [email protected] </div></div>

I know that we've had a number of property owners in and around Austin put a stop to the weekend parking lot festivities that have materialized over the years.

Being in the insurance business, I understand the liability for property owners that may graciously allow us all to mingle on their property on a Saturday night. They can easily be involved in litigation if a person is injured, such as the case you noted.
I know that in the past at some of the large Austin gatherings, folks have been drinking and doing burnouts. That's when you know the end is near for that meeting spot.

The Pavilions is a giant event and I hope it continues.

I wasn't trying to place fault, it was a terrible thing that happened

I have turned onto Indian Bend there myself and people are constantly crossing mid block so you have to be real careful ... too many people crossing and not using the crosswalk and so many lanes of traffic ...

I was at the Kmart / Peoria cruise several years ago and witnessed someone drive OVER a kids head ... it was disturbing

That's absolutely true....very dangerous situations occur there on a regular basis.

And FWIW, that entire shopping center (including that section of Indian Bend Road) is on Indian Reservation land, so anyone who thinks any kind of 'normal' rules apply there may find out differently
