Western Chrome was originally founded in 1969 by John Siroonian, as John's Custom Wheels. John's Custom Wheels provided alloy wheel plating and steel wheel plating services to the San Joaquin Valley. In 1978, Rockwell International purchased Western Wheel.
Back when John was alive he had a large collection of Corvettes and was one of the first to see a need for reproduction knock-off wheels. The company also made 8.5" knock-off wheels for the 68-82 Corvettes.

----Mark,,,Just at the time that John was coming out with his version of the Corvette Knock-Off wheel there was a group of eastern guys (New England) doing the same thing. It became sort of a race to get to market and Western Wheel won. The N.E. guys actually made a few sets as I saw one set, but closed down when they saw the quality of the Western KOs.......Bill S
