Default protecto plate help

Hi guys. This is the protecto-plate for my 1969 Nova. Purchased 2/25/69 from Gibson Chevrolet.

Reads:

1st line is the VIN with a B after it.
2nd line: F0110BB BP0116G 1
3rd line: C9A09 3

And thank god I have the instructions on how to use the "new" ignition system. Not sure what I would have done. ha!

Thanks for the help.

the best you can get is from the trim tag and that will only indicate paint codes, interior trim, and seat type. Have looked for a buried build sheet?

Here is how the POP info breaks down for your 69 Nova:

Engine was assembled in Flint engine plant Jan. 10th, 1969..code BB is the 250cid 6cyl with auto trans.

Trans is a Powerglide built at the Cleveland plant...Jan. 9th, 1969..3rd shift

Rear is a 2.73 open 10 bolt (8.2 ring gear) assembled Jan. 16, 1969..DEtroit Gear & Axle..1st shift

Hope that helps...wilma

That really was the "New" ignition system in 69. Those instructions were probably much needed for all the little old ladies that owned all these hotrods back then.... Not really an issue for the Automatic cars but that whole locking transmission thing was probably confusing for some on day 1... Neat stuff.

I didn't know what all those numbers meant though, Impressive decoding work for a New Yorker
