Original, unrestored, 22k mil SURVIVOR
Born-with drivetrain, original interior, 85%+ original paint One of 500 made in 1955. Fewer than 200 known to exist. Approximately $6,000 cost when new in 1955 352cu in, 275hp. Dual Rochester 4bbl carbs Front and rear torsion bar suspension system with self-leveling Lots of power options incl top, steering, windows, brakes, seats etc. Worth mentioning: -Paint-described as 85% original since it looks like someone repainted a small surface area 40+ yrs ago. -Two small tears in interior include one on driver seat and one on rear seat, bottom cushion. See pics. -Canvas top, motor and boot are new (not original). Replaced by last owner. -Exhaust is new and not original. Tips bent downward by last owner to avoid damaging chrome bumpers. -We rebuilt transmission and carbs and also replaced fuel tank after sitting for 40+years in storage. -new tires, not original Purchased new in July '55 by owner of Hillside Motor Co in PA (dealership). Last registered in 1966. Sat in storage until 2003. Sold to collector in 2003 by the Hillside Moto Co Estate. In storage and not registered until 2007 when we bought it. i saw a 56 conv trade at bonhams auction at greenwich concours over weekend for $117k. nice older restoration. thanks, adam |
